Country Christmas from Drive It To The Moon

by Lee Gonnella on December 8, 2012

We’re a week into December, and it’s getting cold outside.  Chanukah is a day away, and Christmas is in less than 3 weeks ….. it’s time for some more Holiday music!  Today’s theme is Country Music and I hope you all enjoy.  Christmas has always been a big part of country music, stars like Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson have been doing Christmas albums since shortly after Rudolph’s first flight.

Willie Nelson wrote this hit song for Roy Orbison in 1963, and later recorded it on his own Christmas album.  It’s a nice reminder about slowing down and enjoying the season.

Emmylou Harris has one of the most beautiful voices in music.  She’s also the hottest gray-haired lady on the planet.  Here she is with The Civil Wars, singing a English carol that’s at least 300 years old.  If this doesn’t touch your heart, you may want to check for a pulse…

This is one of the funniest holiday songs of all time, but it’s also sweet and loving at the same time.  There’s nothing like family, for better or for worse……..here’s Robert Earl Keen singing about his…

I’m hoping all my readers enjoy the season and are safe among their loved ones.  Stay tuned for some great Chanukah songs next!

Kringle!
